Would you believe me if I told you that Miya and her mom was referred to me through Miya’s aunt, which would be with her cousin Myron and Gabrielle. Miya’s mom saw Gabriella’s sneak peek pictures ad wanted to know who did her pictures, so she contacted me and we set up a date to do Miya’s session. We ran into all the rain again and was hopeing that we could get our day without all the rain and not having to reschedule. We had our consult and Miya sent me the outfits that she had chosen for her session.
The day of her session it actually started to rain a little, and when I got to the location early I was really worried that we would be rained out. It was cloudy and started to drizzle a little, but to my surprise it actually cleared up some to where we actually got some sun to shine, not a lot, but a little and enough to do what we wanted to do and get to the locations that I wanted to get to in order to get her session done.
We started off near the back of the park and right up against this blue door I love and stands out. It was a great start to warm Miya up in front of the camera and loosen up a little. I loved that it was early to where we didn’t have to worry about a crowd, so that gave us all the room that we needed to get to the locations without having to crawl all over people. One thing that most clients worry about is posing and wondering if they will know what to do with their hands and how to make sure they are giving the best smile or facial expression. One thing that I do is go through all of that with you during your shoot.
I know that it can get a bit awkward when your shooting with someone you don’t really know compared to being in front of the camera with a friend. No worries because I’m really big in making sure that your more then comfortable with me so that we can get the best angles, best laugh, best look for your pictures. I also like to to show you just a few behind the screen so that you can know just how good you look, besides it also helps to build up your confidence in how you look no matter how many awwwws I give, or even the excited “yes”.
we took this shoot around the corner to this little house that sits in the middle of the park and used the door to get a shot of Miya standing up and I even peeked through a tree to capture the greenery in the photo.
I wanted something in front of the water so I had her sit on the ground and we did the shot in front of the water.
Cap and gown
The cap and gown portion of her session was a lot of fun, and I say that because it was “throw your gown over your shoulder and hold your hat like this” which gave for a lot of different poses with her cap and gown and some great images to say.
And then we ended last by the stairs which I love! I get to end in my favorite spot that will top off the images to end the session.
Congratulations Miya on your 2021 graduation!!
